Did you know, this May 4-6, 2021, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) is holding its annual International Roadcheck?
The Roadcheck covers the United States, Mexico, and Canada and focuses on reminding semi-trailer truck drivers about the importance of vehicle maintenance and safety. This year’s Roadcheck will focus heavily on vehicle lighting and hours of service.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) reported that 12.24% of vehicle violations are related to lighting problems. Lighting is a crucial safety factor when it comes to operating semi-trailer trucks. If a car is unable to see a truck on the road, this poses a safety issue to both the car and truck driver. It comes as no surprise, then, that adequate lighting is the focus of this year’s CVSA Roadcheck.
