Once again our covert trackers saved the day for one of our customers, a trucking company, in California.
Early morning on 2nd April a surprise was waiting for our customer in their office. One of the dispatchers noticed three trailers were moved from the yard without the due process. Noticing their GPS location on the portal he quickly drove to the place.
Along the way he called our sales manager and shared the bad news. Our sales manager drove to the scene. The dispatcher shared what happened. Apparently thieves were able to remove all the trackers along with their attachments, unhooked the trailers and drove them to their preferred spot and went away to make preparations to steal the load.
Everything went as planned and they were probably getting excited about their fortune. But they were unaware that two of the trailers were still left with GPS trackers, well hidden not only to the naked eyes, but even their high tech. scan.
While they were talking, police arrived too since locations of the stolen trailers were shared with the officers. That was the end of the story. This trailer theft was a testimony to the prediction of a 35% increase in 2024. But it got busted.
Now the most remarkable lesson from this recovery is this: install highly covert trackers to ensure security of your trailers. We have seen similar incidents before. Thieves have evolved and they come prepared with high tech tools to scan for GPS trackers. But our covert tracker has been successful to evade these scans and stay undetected.
But the real saving from this story is not a couple of millions of dollars’ worth of cargo, but the trust of the shipper and their continued business with the trucking company. The long term payback of right decisions always outweighs the short term benefits.
